Prime-Minister Shinzo Abe will be called from “Dishonest Abe” to “Hitler Abe”

The Japanese Prime-Minister, called “Dishonest Abe” by the Economist, made a speech about rule of law at the annual meeting of the International Bar Association in 2014. In his speech, he indicated that although rule of law originated from the West, there was the similar thought, and referred to Syoin Yoshida, who was one of Japan’s most distinguished intellectuals in the closing days of the Tokugawa shogunate, and the Seventeen-article constitution made by Umayado-no-miko in 720. He also described that keeping international society under the control of law and justice brought about Japanese national interests, and he would deploy Japanese diplomacy to realize rule of law. In addition, “Dishonest Abe” spoke that the idea of rule of law was universal, and moral and rule of the society which those who were connected by love for humanity and helped with each other had made on the base of agreement meant law.

I am ashamed that such a man became the Prime-Minister of Japan. I am afraid that Japan will be covered by totalitarianism, and be destroyed as well as Hitler’s Germany.

I must confirm that law is only concerned with much narrower territory than moral and rule. The idea of rule of law belongs to the thought of English area. The establishing process can be understood in the same period of the transfer of the meaning of “rights” from rightness to legal right. The change of the meaning of “rights” corresponds to the period of the transfer of the governance from sacred authority to vulgar power.

Law goes with restriction, which determines whether or not human beings do something. If the law is established in conformity with a democratic procedure, it indwells in rightness inevitably, which results in lowering the sense of the doubt to law. This follows that law lays persons under restraint. Additionally, this law is made on the assumption of the existence of a community, while natural law as the order of the god is forgotten in the distant past.

In order to understand the description mentioned above, the indication of Walter Benjamin serves as a reference. In violence criticism theory he argues the dogma that right purpose will be able to be accomplished by legitimate means, and legitimate means will be able to be applied for the right purpose. And he indicates that those who determine the legitimacy of means and rightness of the purpose are not reason. The former is determined by fateful violence, and the latter by the god. When the god who determines the rightness of the purpose disappears, human beings cannot face the rightness per se in honesty.

Under such process, rule of law oversteps ethics and moral, and changes into something convenient to the state which tried to take the place of the god. Therefore, rule of law does not show the rightness. It can be concluded that rule of law is insufficient. This point is of great importance, however, Dishonest Abe cannot understand this point.

The Nightmare of “Dishonest Abe＝Hitler Abe”

Shown the commitment of Dishonest Abe to rule of law, we have no choice but to be reminded to “Abe=Hitler.”

Let us remind that bureaucrats let fly with saying that “I have no memory” in the questions to witnesses concerning the Kake-School at both Houses on 10 July, 2017. The miserable figure of bureaucrats showed the essence of bureaucrats. In order to analyze this issue, let us remind that a person who was involved in the large-scale slaughter of Jews by Nazis was a bureaucrat with “banality of evil.”

His name is Adolf Eichmann, who was arrested in Argentina by the secret intelligence service of Israeli, was guilty for a crime to humanity, and was executed by hanging in 1962. Eichmann was a bureaucrat working in the section in charge of Jews under control of the Bodyguards. He insisted that he only carried out orders to send Jews to camps in compliance with the German law. It can be said that a bureaucrat handling paperwork put millions of persons to death. Hence, Hannah Arendt called this “banality of evil.” Those who have banality of evil and do not think under the rule of compliance can take human life without hesitation. In short, if we follow Eichmann, we can conclude that Hitler’s holocaust occurred under control of rule of law. If so, there is possibility that another holocaust will occur under rule of law, which Dishonest Abe insists.

The Eichmann trial posed a problem that only compliance of rule of law cannot confront a nightmare of the holocaust. Hence, human beings were demanded to solve the question, that is, how ethics should be thoroughly in place beyond rule of law.

Regrettably, the scandal of Kake-School gave light on the fact that in Japan there were a number of bureaucrats who are similar to Eichmann. Our nation in Japan should be amazed at the reality that even now there are a lot of bureaucrats who only obey law and do not think anything. Foreigners should know that Dishonest Abe promotes such bureaucrats and also gives harbor to another bureaucrat. It can be concluded that Dishonest Abe is Hitler Abe. If foreign mass media come to know this fact, they may change the headline from Dishonest Abe to Hitler Abe.

It is sorry that there is no one who can correct Abe’s mistake concerning rule of law around him. We are afraid that Abe has become a naked King like a dictator, Hitler. Why do not Japanese mass media criticize Dishonest Abe? One of the reasons is that they are stupid, that is, they do not study hard. Another reason is that they conjecture Dishonest Abe’s mind, fearing his sanctions against them.

This is the status quo in Japanese political field.
